Nominating Committee Seeks Candidates for Vice-President and Recording Secretary

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, September 15, 2015
The TLA nominating committee is officially seeking nominations for the 2016-2017 year for the following positions:
Vice-President elect
Recording Secretary
A slate of candidates must be ready by the December board meeting. Please let me know if you would like to be added or if you have a nomination. Information about the posts can be found through the link below under item C.
This is an exciting time to become involved in TLA as we look to restructure our organization to meet the changing needs of our 21st century membership. New ideas are everywhere as we define ourselves as an organization and work to improve our sections and roundtables to address the needs of librarians across the state in meaningful ways. Please consider donating your time for the future of Tennessee libraries!

Banned Book Week Display Contest

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Banned Book Week is September 27th through October 3rd this year and the Intellectual Freedom Committee wants to see your biggest, baddest, best Banned Book Week displays. If you would like to be declared as this year's dynamic display winner and receive a snazzy certificate with your library's name on it, then all you need to do is send me photos of your display or displays at director@clintonpubliclibrary.org with "Banned Book Week Display" in the email subject line between September 27th and October 8th. We'll then get them uploaded to TLA's terrific social media outlets for viewing and voting. Everyone will have until the end of the day on October 16th to vote on their favorite display by liking them on Facebook. The picture with the most likes will be declared the winner.
