Editor's Note

Kristen West

K. West

This issue marks another change in the editorial staff of Tennessee Libraries. After 6 years as assistant editor and 2.5 years as editor, Amy York has decided to pursue other service and scholarship opportunities. I am grateful for Amy's continuing mentorship and as her coworker, I am relieved she is not yet ready to give up her role as Web Services Librarian at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).

I am pleased to be the new editor of Tennessee Libraries, and will do my best to uphold the standard set by previous editors and staff. Thanks to the contributions of Tennessee librarians and authors, that is a relatively easy task! I am beginning my 8th year in Tennessee and as the Instruction Librarian at MTSU. I previously served as assistant editor of TL for 2.5 years.

I am also pleased to introduce Ashley Shealy as TL Assistant Editor. Ashley is new to both Tennessee and to the Tennessee Library Association. Formerly at Wingate University in North Carolina, Ashley began working at MTSU in October 2014 as a Reference and Instruction Librarian.

We appreciate your contributions and readership and look forward to serving you for the foreseeable future. We particularly hope you enjoy this issue's feature articles by Alexandria Quesenberry and Kim Woodring, who are both graduate students at the University of Tennessee School of Information Sciences. This issue also includes reviews of Tennessee-related books edited by Kathy Campbell and informative articles from two columnists, David Ratledge (Technology) and Anthony Prince (Intellectual Freedom). Happy reading!
