The Public Library Section of the Tennessee Library Association administers and selects winners of the Tennsco Grant for Public Library Advancement on behalf of the Tennsco Corporation.  The grant secures full pre-conference and conference registration, tickets to all meals offered at the conference, the conference reception, and three nights stay at the convention center location.  Any remaining monies from the $750 is given to the recipient to help offset travel expenses. The recipient is expected to attend all events paid for by the grant. A committee within the Public Library Section evaluates applications and selects winners and notifies the winner and the Honors and Awards Committee of their selection by January 5th of the conference year.

Eligibility

The scholarship will be awarded to a director or branch manager outside of the Metropolitan Statistical Areas as designated by the US Census Bureau.  The following criteria must also be met to be eligible:

• Must be a member of TNLA 
• Has never attended a TNLA Annual Conference
• Does not have conference expenses already budgeted
• Persons with a record of attendance at local Regional Library level workshops and other continuing education efforts will be viewed favorably

2024-2025 Application

Applications must be received by Saturday, December 14.  The recipient will be notified by January 5, 2025.
