What is MentorTN?

MentorLib's mission is to strengthen relationships across library communities of Tennessee and New Jersey, and to provide an avenue for collegial collaboration and support. The goal is not only to make connections among librarians and library staff stronger but by doing so, to make our libraries stronger. Connection and collaboration among librarians and staff are key to thriving libraries. This connectedness serves as a platform for sharing ideas and forming collaborations all with the philosophy of superior customer service in mind.

MentorTN provides a directory of mentors—seasoned library professionals and paraprofessionals in Tennessee and New Jersey—who generously volunteer to share their expertise with colleagues, particularly those new to the field. This diverse pool of mentors offers an exceptional opportunity for anyone in the Tennessee library community to learn from highly experienced professionals.

Who can join?

MentorTN is for everyone who work in libraries! The MentorTN directory connects mentees with mentors for professional development and networking. Mentees can be from anywhere and do not need an account. Mentors are available to support students, librarians, and paraprofessionals new to the profession, as well as those taking on new job responsibilities. Interested parties can browse the directory and contact potential mentors based on their professional goals and interests.
